The 10/40 Window of the world is a phrase within Christian ministry which refers to a rectangular area of the world which lies between 10 degrees and 40 degrees North latitude. 

This region of the world, which covers the geographic regions of Northern Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, is home to an estimated population of nearly 5.5 billion people (as of 2023) and 

over 8500 distinct people groups.

With the world’s current population (2023) being just over 8 billion people, that means over 68% of the world's population lives in this narrow region of the world.

This region is widely considered home to some of the poorest people in the world, where poverty and low standards of living are widespread.

Sadly, Christianity is either formally oppressed or unofficially rejected by the governments of the 54 nations which occupy the throughout 10/40 Window of the world. 

In addition to the limited or restricted access to places of Christian worship or even Christian learning resources, the Christians who live in this region of the world are regularly exposed to both political and social attacks just because of their belief and worship of Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

In many of the countries throughout the 10/40 Window, open persecution of Christians is widespread and sanctioned. It is easy to see why Christians throughout this region are considered the most persecuted Christian population in the world today.

Of the nearly 5.5 billion people living within the 10/40 Window, over 3.3 billion of them are considered an unreached group of people. That means 60% of the people living in the 10/40 Window either have never heard or have a very limited understanding of the gospel message.

Because of the limited Christian resources and high level of persecution faced by Christians living in this area of the world, we at Matthew24messenger are drawn to serve in the 10/40 Window and to the Christians who live there.
